Holly you put the blade as the uard? While fancy,that's a prety risky option and it negates the twin-hand option. Also, it's not a 'Hollw Sword', it's a katana, a streight blade averaging 3.5 feet in length, .5 inches thick, .0033 inches deep at the back. Your blade isunusualy thick though, judging based of a 3.5 feet scale, it's about 3 inches deep. Also, for a katana, the handle is rediculously small, I'd say almost western size. But other than that this is an excelent piece of work.

No it's bigger than that, I haven't figured out the exact scale that I would use but I'd say that the entire thing is somewhere around 5 ft in length, maybe a bit bigger. And thank you, glad you like it.

The handle idea you have going here is pretty cool I think.
Although, that sharp end could be tricky when actually trying to use it.
Perhaps you could add some weights/tassels to the handle for some extra flare and pizzaz?! If you want to follow a more eastern style anyway.
Your sword has a more futuristic look to it though.

Yeah I think the lines gave it a futuristic look as well. Unfortunately this is supposed to be for the Avatarverse, the idea was that it could be heated up and the lines would glow with the blade [link]
like so, but you know like actual metal. Not like I spent 30 seconds putting a lava texture on top of it.

Well, I can't remember, but is your character supposed to be from the Avatar world? If not, he could be from another dimension and thereby fully explain the futuristic look to his sword? Like a Dr. Who character maybe?! (just joshing)

I'm thinking that you mean make it look like a glowing red rather than lava red? More along the lines of the one ring from LOTR?!
Otherwise whenever you swung your sword you'd get dripping hot lava thrown in every direction.

Yeah Pirce is a firebender so he could use his magical create fire with my mind abilities to heat it up. And yeah it would be like hot metal [link] I just used the lava texture for a quick show and tell while I figure out how to make metal look hot(lot harder than I thought it would be).

It is hard. Making elements actually look like they shouldis tough!! I think that's why I like to draw more along the lines of silly cartoony or stylized art. Me lazy!! XD

Dude, you have a sonic screwdriver?! That is too cool!! I've been looking for a nice replica myself. The stores 'round these here parts only carry the kiddie 4 year old version. I think I'll just have to mod my own.
